Chpater 21 Marked for Greatness

On the first page(193), the author wrote"Forst, the obvious, but nonthe less necessary observation; in real life, when people have any physical mark or imperfection, it means nothing thematically, metaphorically, or spiritually." I chose this becasue I think differently thna he does. I think that a mark can mean something. An example is that the mark of the beast (666). I definitly think that that has a lot of significance, especially spiritually.

On page 194 the author wrote "In literature we contine to understand physical imperfection in symbolic terms. It has to do with being different, really." I agree with the author on that because nobody wants to be the same as somebody else...In literature we make sure the main character has something different about them, which nobody else has...Such as them having a scar on their face from a war or what religion they believe in...What makes them different sets them aside from everybody else...
